Chasing Rainbows

Christmas Eve had both kids home. It was a relaxed day at home. A nice hot masala tea with some Christmas fare like stollen, panettone, biscottis was a good start to the day. What would it be without joining the frenzy at grocery stores for last minute ingredients for the dinner menu? Except this time I let my husband accompany the kids for this errand. When the were returning my daughter called me up to say quickly get dressed in your saree, I’ll take a picture of you with the rainbow outside ! I wasted no time picking out the pink Bhujodi, ran a comb through my hair and literally went out on the street in 5 minutes! Alas ! The rainbow was nowhere to be seen! Nevertheless, the Bhujodi got its turn under the lens.

Enough running after rainbows ! Right after the photo session went and changed back into home clothes to get to cooking. I was delegated the task to make the tortilla soup that the kids love while the daughter did her own creation ! A masala vegetable quinoa bake that turned out such a masterpiece! Felt proud of her ! Despite my previous dislike for quinoa I was leaning in for second and third servings! Just couldn’t stop licking the yummy stuff ! Son made pomegranate jalapeño margaritas that beautifully complemented the meal.

Played card games together after dinner before calling it a day.
