Shraavan Somwaar

Happy Shraavan Somwaar !! 

I completed the difficult Sola Somwaar vrat while still a MBBS student in 1987. This week on occasion of the first Shraavan Somwaar the entire picture of the vrat came alive in my mind. 35 years later my understanding of God has gone through much change. The purpose of life has gained a new meaning. There are no personal dreams anymore. Certainly none with a compulsion to make them come true. Whatever God wills for me will be the best for me. I read somewhere that Sadguru is one who empties your mind of desires, not fulfill them. I surely found my Satguru. HE has no form or name. I take the liberty to give HIM form and name according to my fancy.

No wonder this time when I visualized the temple in my hometown it’s walls vanished and all that remained was The Eternal Presence !! 

Saree is the same Garden Vareli printed georgette that my mother had gifted me at the time, on occasion of the udyaapan.  It looks fresh even today, just like the memories of those times.
