Food For Thought
It must be close to two decades when someone had asked me a riddle.
Those of you who haven’t heard this before try to think. There is more than one answer.
Here is the riddle:
A man was traveling on his bike with his young son seated behind. At a cross section a big truck came in full speed and crashed into them. The father died on the spot and son was rushed to the hospital. He had lost a lot of blood and needed emergency surgery to have any chance at survival. The emergency doctor called the surgeon on call. When the surgeon arrived and was shown the patient there was pin drop silence. To the surprise of the ED staff the surgeon said “ I can’t operate on this patient. He is my son.”
Can you explain?
Clue: it’s an eye opener for stereotypes in our minds!
Saree is a cotton paithani with traditional pallu, in periwinkle color.
