Almond Grove in Autumn

When it rains, it pours. Today that’s exactly what happened, literally and figuratively speaking. I had no photographer in several weeks and today I had not one but two. First it was mom. Later in the afternoon my good friend, who returned from India last week. She had spotted an almond grove yesterday in its full autumnal glory. It was inviting for a photo op and she needed company of a willing photographer. The rain had stopped briefly by afternoon so we decided we would go there. My newly acquired Bhujodi woven with eri silk yarn found its perfect location to serenade. The color palette the weaver has used for this one is very unique and glorious and so much in tune with autumn. See for yourself. This one is very similar in design to the one I had worn on the last day of my visit to kutch, except that one was banana fiber. This eri silk has its special softness and transferred warmth during cold weather. It reverses the comfort with coolness during summer, so I’m looking forward to the versatile use all year long.
