Kavita’s Wedding Reception
It was a reunion of sorts in the evening at the resort on the outskirts of Khopoli with several of my school friends. It was a close knit event. The venue was very beautifully decorated and the newly weds as well as all guests were dressed in their finest attires. As I mentioned in the last post , Reena , my classmate who now lives in Sydney,Australia was there and staying with me. Also joining us that evening were Fazal and Manoj, our classmates who live in Khopoli. We were all catching up with each other that evening. The buffet food was delicious but the real highlight was Nirmala’s homemade rum cake. I have always been pampered by her with this absolutely incredible fruity cake whenever we met, especially during holiday season. The other classmates didn’t know this secret and dug into the cake hungrily after the first bite. It seemed even more special when they found out Nirmala makes it herself. That evening we danced to music along with Nirmala and her family. It was an evening to remember. We rode in Faizal’s car along with Manoj.
Reena had accompanied me to the Ganapati temple earlier in the day and spent the night at my home.
Saree at the reception was a kanjeevaram in deep blue with antique jari temple border on one side . Body has self design. I had gifted this one to Shubhada some time back and borrowed it from her for this evening.
