Perception

A few days back I came across this picture with its caption. It prompted me to compare this with our general outlook at things. Any single situation can be revisited with a different view and the perception can change.

One step further, when we take both perspectives into consideration we get additional benefits. Firstly we can choose which perspective to use. Secondly, we can better understand varying, and at times mutually contradictory, perspectives and realize how they can still coexist in the world. Thirdly we can probably suggest some kind of reconciliation between two opposing views with the goal of greater good and harmony. Lastly and most importantly we can recognize that “we” are not any of those perspectives. We are an observer and we are not bound to either of these perspectives.
This can have immense implications in knowing who we are, how our mind works as well as how we navigate our lives.
