Simplicity trumps fancy !

If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive.

Simplicity is not a simple thing!

Sometimes simplicity trumps fancy!

This unassuming Jagatsingpur sutaluga  proved the point last weekend. It was a perfect wear to work on a day that saw mercury rise to 110 degrees in Bakersfield. And also proved to be the perfect choice to play like a child in the sand and waters at the beach in San Francisco. None of my fancy sarees could have fitted in either of these places. The tide was slowly picking up, teasing me first with a slight moist edge, then more and more until the petticoat and lower half of the saree were dripping and smeared with sand. I indulged playing with the waves with such abandon like I hadn’t done in years. The sand dollars, shells and pebbles strewn all over the beach got me bending over every few minutes. Flocks of pelicans flew over the head. Sea gulls crept up to the shore to pick the tiny creatures brought in by each wave. Their feet had imprints all over the sand. The sky was overcast, not too sunny or bright. I kept walking for miles, barefoot. If happiness could be measured it would surpass the expanse of the ocean that morning.
