This is a song purportedly mouthed by a lovelorn woman. It may just as well be imagined as coming from someone like Meerabai.
The sentiment is the same in either case. It is admission of total surrender in love. Only the entity each woman is surrendering to differs. One is surrendering to a man, another to the divine spirit. Only one of these can emancipate the woman in a complete sense. The other cannot.
