Coming a full circle
On the drive to Tehachapi , Lisa( my driver) and I were having a chat. She was telling me about her maternal grandparents who were immigrants from Cuba, how she learned traditional Cuban cooking from her grandmother, how they would love to travel and take her along when she was young.
I told her about my childhood and travels with my parents.
Suddenly I realized, what I always thought were the happiest days of my life, the early years at school in Khopoli, I’m back in an almost similar happy place now, after retiring from a full time job. The tethering to work for a large part of the week seems gone. Mind has a vast open sky to roam, for most days of the week. On the few days that it can’t do that, it’s still not too bad!
Does feel like life has come a full circle.
Beyond this there is just a happy open space. No coming and going.
