A Hike in Breckenridge Colorado: Part 4

A Hike in Breckenridge Colorado: Part 4

Today we took a drive to Silverthorne and Dillon about an hour from Breckenridge. There we did a 2.7 mile trail called Walden trail. It was a nice walk between groves of Aspens and pines and sporadic wildflowers. Again intermittent sightings of squirrels and birds. A few streams on the way with logs to walk across. Sections of burned pines were seen at a few places. The weather was really nice, neither hot nor cold. One could easily get lost however without gps. When you arrive at forks, you can’t be sure which way will take you back to your starting point. But after a few moments of feeling lost in the woods made it back to where the car was parked. Reminded me of a fairy tale I had read as a child : Hansel and Gretel. Two siblings lost in the forest who trace their way with the help of bread crumbs.

Saree today was a tussar linen mix Jamdani Handloom weave from West Bengal. The scarf I’m wearing in the pictures is a fine bandhani tie dyed on mulberry silk by one of the best new generation bandhani artists currently in India, Zakiya Ben Khatri. Her products are available under her label BairajbyZakiya.
