It is difficult to stop thinking about this topic. 

The mystery of the universe, mystery of Time and Matter.

Mr Khalili gave the example of perception of music is possible because of a continuum of notes. The previous note followed by a series that reach our ears gives us the experience of the melody. Each note is distinct by itself.

Our life is very much like that. One instance gives context to the successive ones. I graduated from medical college. The graduation needs a context. But only when it is labeled. The moment I started medical college becomes necessary for graduation to mean something. By itself a graduation event without the label of any sort would not ask for a context. 

The minute we start putting a context of time, space, person, etc we step out of the absolute reality into the relative reality. There is no axis in the absolute. Nothing to compare better or worse, before or after, higher or lower, near or far, recent or remote, rounder or flatter, longer or shorter, darker or lighter, subject or object, gross or subtle, wavy or straight line, continuous or interrupted. 

Our human minds have a difficulty imagining such a state. Irony is that this state needs no imagination. Everything other than this absolute state needs imagination. To understand graduation we need to imagine entrance to college. To understand taller we need to imagine shorter. To understand any contextual information we need to imagine its opposite. Since mind has become so conditioned to imagine, anything that requires to put aside imagination and simply let perception stand free at any given moment becomes nearly impossible for the mind. I asked a friend, can you experience consciousness for a few seconds without any thoughts. Not for minutes, but seconds. His answer was no. 

The experiment of freezing all labeling of our perception can potentially reveal the experience of the absolute. It is on the surface of this state that our mind is able to function. Thoughts came after perception. Words came after thoughts. Objects became objects after a subject gave it a label. 

Once absolute perception descends into the state of a labeled perception that’s when reality has entered the phase of imagination. All laws of science are valid from this point forward. All sciences are valid from this point forward. In fact the ability for any one science to invalidate or validate another science is possible only from this point forward. Prior to this point there is no differentiation. Everything is one huge mass of potential. And the most mysterious of its potential is imagination. The potential to imagine without itself undergoing any change whatsoever. 

As I am beginning to understand this basic concept of the intrinsically changeless absolute and its undeniable ability to imagine and label itself it is doing a whole lot of things to me as a person. It is bringing an unprecedented sense of acceptance towards all pairs of opposites that come across. It is bringing a sense of peace and contentment that was hitherto largely elusive. It is also bringing a paradoxical sense of completeness on one side, and a sense of incompleteness not to be fulfilled by objects or people but by an ever increasing curiosity to understand the universe. That peculiar state where you feel “ I understand but I have a few more questions”. And mysteriously the universe keeps answering each question patiently when the mind asks. 

It is a good place to be in. In the present moment always. No past to carry around. No future to worry about. 

If someone labels me as crazy, it may be true from their reality. But afterall it is just a label. Why worry?
